Bring your residential structural engineering expertise to a fast-moving Houston-area team building structurally sound, code-compliant homes with a strong focus on quality and collaboration. This Structural Engineer (EIT or PE) – Residential Construction opportunity lets you take ownership of new-home structural packages from foundation through framing and roof systems, including Texas windstorm requirements.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Structural Engineer (EIT or PE) – Residential Construction position include:
- At least three years of residential structural engineering experience focused on new-home construction
- Active EIT certification or Professional Engineer license
- Direct experience designing residential foundations (including slab-on-grade) and wood framing/roof systems
- Wind-load and wind-speed analysis experience, including Texas windstorm (TDI/TWIA) requirements
- Working knowledge of the International Residential Code (IRC) and ability to ensure code compliance
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; ability to prepare or modify structural drawings with limited supervision
- Perform structural engineering and design for new single-family and multifamily residential projects, including load calculations
- Coordinate with builders and other non-engineers, review architectural plans/submittals, and provide engineering guidance during construction
Salary: $70,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
