Step into a hands-on role supporting construction projects with accurate surveying deliverables and a team-focused culture. Survey Technician is an excellent opportunity to help collect and analyze topographic data while partnering with Survey Project Managers to keep work moving efficiently. This position is based in Bridgewater, NJ, with an expectation of being in the office initially and some flexibility after full training.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Survey CAD Technician position include:
- Proficient in AutoDesk Civil 3D.
- Clear understanding of Survey Points, Point Groups, .CSV’s, and Coordinate Systems.
- Understanding and ability to calculate pipe slopes.
- Ability to organize DWG files using Xrefs, Dynamic Blocks, Layers, and Colors.
- Proficient in PC software and systems such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Dropbox, and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with “Agtek Earthwork 3D” for surface creation and earthwork calculations, and performing material takeoffs from plans is a plus but not required.
- Post-process and analyze survey data using specialized software; prepare stakeout sketches, point files, and DXF files.
- Produce accurate As-Built Drawings, perform volume calculations as needed, and prepare cut-sheets and sketches while staying current on industry standards and working collaboratively.
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
