A growing commercial construction firm in the Tampa Bay area is seeking a Senior Commercial Construction Estimator for a fully in-office role. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established contractor known for handling a wide range of commercial projects, where your ability to lead estimating strategy, identify risk, close scope gaps, and protect margin will make a direct impact.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior Commercial Construction Estimator position include:
- 5+ years required; 8-10+ years preferred of commercial construction estimating experience with strong knowledge of means, methods, sequencing, CSI divisions, and scope development.
- Lead conceptual, schematic, construction management, and hard-bid estimates for commercial projects ranging from $100K to $20M+, with some larger projects up to $35M.
- Perform detailed takeoffs, including manual takeoffs, using Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating software.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, addenda, and project documents to identify risk, scope gaps, cost exposures, and constructability challenges.
- Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and level subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure complete and comparable scope coverage.
- Prepare organized bid packages, proposals, clarifications, assumptions, exclusions, RFIs, and scope reviews.
- Support bid strategy, go/no-go decisions, value engineering, preliminary schedules, and project handoff to operations.
- Attend occasional site visits, pre-bid meetings, project walks, and client coordination meetings as needed.
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
