In this Senior CNC Applications Engineer role, you’ll help engineer reliable lights-out production for complex aerospace, defense, and high-precision components.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior CNC Applications Engineer position include:
- 15+ years as a senior CNC applications engineer/programmer, ideally with machine-tool distributor experience or complex aerospace, space, and defense manufacturing backgrounds.
- Develop and optimize complex multi-axis milling and mill-turn processes, including advanced 5-axis machining and horizontal machining.
- Program reliable lights-out processes using custom macros, probing, redundant tooling, and dynamic tool-life management.
- Design high-density workholding and processes using zero-point fixturing and tombstone setups to minimize secondary operations.
- Verify multi-axis programs through complete kinematic digital twins before physical execution.
- Improve cycle times, material-removal rates, surface finishes, pallet utilization, and unattended-production reliability.
- Collaborate directly with the founder while exercising broad authority over manufacturing methods and shop-floor technology.
- Support machine-data infrastructure development for future automation and AI applications.
Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience; profit sharing and equity potential
