Description
Professional Land Surveyor / Survey Team Manager opportunity in the Naperville, IL area, supporting projects across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana! This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, growing consulting firm with approximately 700 employees nationwide, transparent leadership, strong financial visibility, and the chance to lead, expand, and build upon an existing survey team while developing new client relationships.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Professional Land Surveyor / Survey Team Manager position include:
- Professional Land Surveyor licensure in Illinois is required, or the ability to obtain it within 1 year.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in land development, commercial, industrial, single-family, municipal development, or related surveying projects.
- Take ownership of an established book of business while driving new business development, client retention, and revenue growth to support the continued expansion of the survey department.
- Manage land survey projects through the full project cycle while maintaining client communication.
- Lead, mentor, train, and oversee approximately 10-15 surveyors, CAD technicians, party chiefs, and field staff.
- Produce survey-related projects, evaluate field data, and perform survey calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Prepare calculations and project information for field crews, schedule field work, and support field survey projects as a supervisor.
- Develop and implement survey field standards, quality control procedures, and equipment recommendations.
- Assist with recruiting, evaluating new hires, growing the survey team, and communicating regularly with leadership and project managers.
Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
