Description
Lathe Programmer/Machinist opportunity located in Copiague, NY, offering the chance to work with a precision manufacturing company specializing in high-quality components and advanced machining processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented programmer/machinist who enjoys working with CNC lathes, tight tolerances, blueprints, and hands-on production in a fast-paced machine shop environment.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Lathe Programmer/Machinist position include:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components according to specifications, blueprints, and job instructions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
- Program CNC lathes using G-code and adjust settings for various machining processes.
- Inspect and measure finished products using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and dial indicators to ensure accuracy.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, troubleshooting, and assist with minor repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate production records, setup sheets, inspection reports, and maintenance logs while following all safety protocols.
- Preferred experience includes CAD/CAM software, machine shop experience, machining certification, and milling machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Live tooling experience a plus
Salary: $25 - $40 an hour, commensurate with experience.
