Build your future designing hands-on mechanical products in a fast-paced, outdoor-focused innovation environment in Sheffield Lake, OH. In this Sr. Mechanical Engineer opportunity, you’ll help take ideas from concept to production by creating real mechanisms, prototypes, and manufacturable designs.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Sr. Mechanical Engineer position include:
- 10+ years of mechanical design experience taking hardware products from concept through production
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude with a strong preference for building prototypes and iterating in a shop environment
- Create robust 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and tolerance analyses using appropriate CAD software
- Design mechanical assemblies involving plastics, sheet metal, gears, moving mechanisms, and fabricated components
- Perform tolerance analysis and ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM/DFA)
- Support design verification, testing, and product improvements
- Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and domestic/overseas manufacturing partners to support production readiness
- Comfort working independently while collaborating with a small engineering team; BS/MS preferred but not required
Salary: $80,000 - $125,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Profit sharing and bonuses are a significant part of total compensation, with approximately 4-8% profit sharing and bonuses that can total 25%, available as lump sum cash or contributed to an IRA or 401k. PTO starts at approximately 11 days plus 5 sick days (with flexibility for strong candidates), and the benefits package is currently being updated.
