Bring your forensic engineering expertise to impactful, real-world investigations across a regional footprint where your findings help clarify liability, improve safety, and support litigation outcomes. In this Forensic Civil/Structural Engineer opportunity, you’ll work on construction and structural matters that demand precision, strong communication, and hands-on site presence.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Forensic Civil/Structural Engineer position include:
- Minimum 10 years of civil/structural engineering experience with a background in construction and structural design.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration/license and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Experience investigating structural failures, construction-related claims, accidents, or other forensic engineering matters.
- Ability to perform hands-on site investigations, including climbing ladders, navigating stairs/ramps, crawling in confined spaces, stooping/kneeling/crouching, balancing, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Single-day regional travel with occasional overnight travel.
- Conduct expert forensic analysis of construction accidents and claims, structural failures and degradation, and premises/walkway and workplace safety issues.
- Evaluate compliance with OSHA, IBC, BOCA, ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, and UBC standards relevant to assigned matters.
- Produce detailed reports with photography/measurements, provide project updates to clients, and support expert testimony as needed.
Salary: $130,000 - $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
