This Engineering Manager opportunity is based in the North Seattle/Port Gardner, WA area (100% onsite) and centers on leading an engineering team through the full product lifecycle—new development, R&D, sustainment, and continuous productivity improvements.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Engineering Manager position include:
- 10+ years of practical engineering experience in the design of hardware and software, with complete product development lifecycle ownership including validation, testing, qualification, and production introduction.
- Experience leading an engineering team responsible for new product development, R&D, sustainment, and improvements to existing products.
- Aerospace experience strongly preferred; comparable regulated product experience (e.g., medical equipment) may be considered if lifecycle, validation, and compliance processes are strong.
- Minimum of two years of project leadership or direct engineering management experience.
- Strong working knowledge of FAA certification principles and AS9100 compliance; familiarity with standards including DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C, and MIL-STD-810.
- Apply Earned Value Management principles to maintain schedules, control costs, and satisfy customer requirements.
- Plan and manage projects including staffing, development costs, schedules, technical risks, and special equipment needs; provide technical direction for complex electronics and embedded software.
- Coordinate closely with Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, and Sales; support technical proposals and certification documentation for authorities such as FAA and EASA.
Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 per year
Benefits: Benefits include 10% annual bonus based on performance targets, up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and relocation support case-by-case (typically supported through the sign-on bonus). The role offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, five healthcare plan options, paid time off of four weeks (negotiable), company-paid life and AD&D insurance, company-paid short- and long-term disability, HSA with potential company contributions and/or FSA/DCFSA options, 401(k) with a 3% company match and no length-of-service requirement, and additional insurance options including accident/hospital-indemnity/critical-illness coverage.
