This Aerospace Manufacturing Lead opportunity offers a key role building and leading aerospace composite manufacturing capability at a 100% onsite facility.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Aerospace Manufacturing Lead position include:
- Minimum 5 years of composite manufacturing experience, including 2+ years in a lead, trainer, or supervisory role.
- Hands-on composite autoclave experience required, including programming, loading, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting high-pressure/high-temperature autoclaves.
- Hands-on experience with composite lay-up and precision vacuum bagging in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace quality systems and safety protocols, including AS9100 familiarity/experience important.
- Ability to direct Cutting Table Operators, Lay-Up Technicians, and Autoclave Operators; assign daily work, train hourly staff, verify competency, and develop standard work.
- Experience with autoclave operations, hand/ply lay-up, precision vacuum bagging, cure-cycle monitoring, prepreg/material handling, and cutting tables; VARTM closed-mold experience relevant to the role.
- Ability to monitor heat, vacuum, pressure, ramp rates, dwell times, and vacuum integrity.
- Support continuous improvement through troubleshooting cure/process deviations, root-cause/corrective actions, and Lean/Six Sigma or other continuous-improvement efforts.
Salary: $30–$40/hour, non-exempt with overtime eligibility; up to $45/hour possible for a highly experienced candidate.
