This Manufacturing Electrical Designer opportunity in Belvidere, NJ offers hands-on ownership across electrical design deliverables—from drawings and work packages to field installation support.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Manufacturing Electrical Designer position include:
- 2 years of full-time-equivalent accredited college study focused on Electrical Design (Industrial Applications), earning a degree or progressing toward a 4-year degree; must be able to complete electrical designs with minimal assistance.
- Proficient in AutoCAD to independently develop and revise electrical layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams; manages the Meridian site drawing system.
- Detailed knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and IEC requirements, including hazardous-location design (Class II) and understanding of arc flash.
- Knowledge and application of motors and motor control, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and PLC/DCS I/O interfaces.
- Experience with cable and conduit sizing and protective devices including fuses, circuit breakers, and motor circuit protectors.
- Create electrical layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams per project engineer requests.
- Select components, perform load calculations, and collaborate with the project team.
- Assemble electrical work packages (scope of work and drawings) for contractor bidding or internal installation, and provide field installation guidance while maintaining site drawing standards.
Salary: $66,000 - $121,700 per year, commensurate with experience.
