Description
Bring your mechanical design expertise to custom wet-process and process-water recycling projects in East Providence, where engineering, fabrication, and hands-on collaboration come together to deliver real-world impact. In this Mechanical Design Engineer role, you’ll own machine design from concept through release and help integrate pumping, piping, pneumatics, and automation into manufacturable systems.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical Design Engineer position include:
- 8–10 years of mechanical design experience with custom industrial equipment/machinery (5+ years required)
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings for custom machines using SOLIDWORKS
- Develop P&IDs and pneumatic schematics, and work with customer site plans in 2D AutoCAD
- Design and integrate pumping systems, piping systems, pneumatic systems, mechanisms, and structural frames
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis (flow calculations, pump sizing, structural analysis, and material compatibility for chemical environments)
- Own mechanical design packages from concept through release, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and schedule adherence
- Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate mechanical systems with PLC/HMI controls, instrumentation, and automation strategies
- Support multiple projects simultaneously through proactive communication of risks, issues, and scope gaps
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
