In this Underground Utility Superintendent opportunity with a respected heavy civil team delivering critical underground infrastructure across Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas. You’ll lead a crew for water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems while working safely in fast-paced field conditions.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Underground Utility Superintendent position include:
- Underground utility experience leading field crews, with a strong preference for water, sewer, and storm drain experience and deep excavation/trench box work.
- Lead and mentor a crew (typically a 5-person team) while staying hands-on as a working superintendent.
- Enforce safety and compliance, including OSHA trenching/excavation and confined space requirements; conduct daily safety meetings.
- Read and interpret plans/specifications, set grades and layouts using survey equipment (GPS/lasers), and ensure quality execution.
- Coordinate daily work with project managers, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and utility locators.
- Manage materials, tools, and heavy equipment to keep production moving.
- Maintain daily job logs, production reports, timecards/quantity tracking, and as-built documentation.
Salary: $30-$45/hour (DOE). $175 per diem.
