Step into a hands-on U.S. manufacturing environment where your designs become real, fabricated tool-storage products on the floor. This Product Design Engineer – Tool Storage opportunity is based in Van Wert or Mogadore, OH, with Van Wert preferred due to the manufacturing operation, and offers meaningful ownership from concept through production release.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Product Design Engineer – Tool Storage position include:
- Meaningful product-development and fabricated/sheet-metal design experience, including formed parts and assemblies.
- Ability to independently move projects from concept through production release, with strong design-for-manufacturability (DFM) judgment and self-checking habits.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks Sheet Metal (or a comparable high-level 3D parametric CAD platform with willingness/ability to transition quickly).
- Experience designing for manufacturing processes such as laser cutting/punching, bending/forming, welding, and assembly.
- Comfort working with real production capabilities, identifying interferences/collisions, fit/clearance issues, forming concerns, and assembly risks before release.
- Experience supporting prototypes, testing, pre-production, and production launches for fabricated metal products.
- Willingness to be present where work is happening, including prototype builds, manufacturing trials, troubleshooting, and design reviews.
- Clear, professional communication and the ability to partner effectively with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Salary: $90K–$110K per year, commensurate with experience.
