Description
Power your future with renewable energy work at a modern industrial processing facility in northwest Indiana. This Process Operator opportunity offers hands-on responsibility for monitoring large-scale biological processing equipment, automated control systems, and day-to-day plant operations while working with a small, collaborative operations team.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Process Operator position include:
- Previous experience in industrial operations, manufacturing, utilities, water/wastewater treatment, chemical processing, oil & gas, food processing, renewable energy, or other process-driven environments is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude is required; experience operating heavy equipment is a plus, but training is available.
• Must be comfortable using computers, automated control systems, and maintenance software and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour day/night schedule and spend the majority of the shift walking the facility, climbing stairs, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Operate and monitor large biological processing systems by controlling material flow and monitoring tank levels, equipment performance, and process conditions to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Utilize SCADA and other computerized systems to monitor plant performance, identify process trends, and make operational adjustments as needed.
• Perform routine inspections of pumps, mixers, motors, instrumentation, and related process equipment while coordinating maintenance requests through a computerized work order system.
• Collect product samples, perform basic laboratory testing for process control, maintain accurate operating records, and support continuous process optimization.
• Assist with loading raw materials using mobile equipment, coordinate with incoming deliveries, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility.
• Troubleshoot process issues, recognize changing operating conditions before they become problems, and work independently while collaborating with the operations team.
Salary: $22-$24 per hour.
Benefits: Full-time benefits are available after 90 days, including medical, dental, vision, and several additional options. Uniforms are available after 60 days, and paid vacation is available after 6 months of full-time employment in accordance with the PTO policy. This position also offers weekly pay, overtime after 40 hours, and a rotating 12-hour day/night schedule.
