Description
Join a growing engineering-driven organization in Roanoke, TX that designs and manufactures heavy-duty trenching equipment used in demanding drilling and pipeline environments. This team is known for its practical engineering mindset, collaborative culture, and commitment to building durable equipment that performs in the field. They are currently seeking a Mechanical Draftsman to work alongside the head engineer and drafting team to help design components for trenchers and related equipment.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical Draftsman position include:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred – Assist engineers with mechanical design development for trencher equipment and components.
- Proficiency in Solid Edge, Creo, and 2D drafting software – Create detailed technical drawings and models used for manufacturing and prototyping.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles – Support the development of precision mechanical designs from concept through production release.
- Experience working in engineering or manufacturing environments – Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Ability to interpret engineering concepts and specifications – Produce accurate documentation that supports project execution and equipment fabrication.
- Strong attention to detail and organization – Maintain clean models and well-structured design documentation.
- Experience or familiarity with drilling, trenching, or rig environments is a plus – Help improve efficiency and reliability of equipment designs.
- Strong work ethic and communication skills – Work closely with project managers and engineering staff in an in-office engineering team environment.
Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 commiserate with experience
