Description
The Geotechnical Structural Engineer position in Portland, OR is an extraordinary opportunity to join a brand-new, highly specialized asset security and architectural infrastructure firm serving ultra-high-net-worth and sovereign family clients. This founding-level role offers exceptional autonomy, major financial upside, and the chance to shape elite field operations involving advanced subsurface geology, heavy-load structural systems, luxury vault environments, and proprietary material science applications.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Geotechnical Structural Engineer position include:
- 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering, heavy foundation design, structural steel, or deep-earth shoring.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Oregon or willing to obtain through reciprocity; S.E. credential is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with CAD, structural load path analysis, concrete systems, subsurface scanning, and GPR interpretation.
- Execute or oversee geotechnical scanning, bedrock analysis, soil density evaluations, and subterranean utility identification.
- Perform structural calculations for heavy concentrated loads up to 5,000 lbs. in historic estates, rural compounds, and high-security environments.
- Produce finalized stamped CAD and engineering schematics for foundation systems, structural steel, and advanced material applications.
- Oversee excavation teams, concrete pours, BFRP reinforcement systems, and geological quality control in the field.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to field integrators while managing discreet logistics, site audits, and final engineering sign-offs.
Salary: $185,000 - $210,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
