Description
Bring your electrical self-perform leadership to a role built for high-impact growth across major industrial and institutional projects in the Upper Midwest. In this Electrical Services Trade Director opportunity, you’ll help build and scale an electrical self-perform capability from the ground up, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and labor productivity, while partnering closely with senior leaders and field teams. The role is based in a travel-forward environment with HQ onsite interviews in Southfield, MI.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Electrical Services Trade Director position include:
- 10+ years of electrical trade experience, including supervisory/leadership roles, with experience managing large-scale union self-perform/trade labor operations.
- Develop and execute the long-term strategy for the self-perform electrical services business in partnership with the Vice President, Building Trades.
- Oversee planning, staffing, and execution of all self-perform electrical projects across the portfolio and drive operational excellence through standardized processes and continuous improvement.
- Champion a culture of safety and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other applicable codes and standards.
- Own financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and P&Ls; optimize labor productivity, equipment utilization, and overall cost efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop electrical field and supervisory teams, including foremen, journeymen, and apprentices, and build recruiting and training pipelines.
- Ensure quality standards are consistently met through quality assurance processes, project audits, and resolution of escalated technical issues.
- Partner cross-functionally with project management, construction, facilities, engineering, and procurement, serving as a subject matter expert for planning and estimating.
Salary: $177,000 - $262,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: 25% annual target incentive, long-term incentive compensation bonus, and $12,000 annual auto allowance.
