We’re looking for a Traveling Superintendent based in the Chicago area to lead ground-up construction of coffee shops—1,000 sq ft fast food buildings developed from bare lots through complete site and vertical build. You’ll be working alongside a team of skilled, down-to-earth professionals who value integrity, quality craftsmanship, and getting the job done right. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Traveling Superintendent position include:
- Preferably a local candidate in the Chicagoland area
- Experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects, preferably restaurant/retail builds
- Ability to oversee full site development including trenching, utilities, concrete, and stick-built structures
- Must be able to maintain schedules with goal of completing projects in 90 days
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work standards
- Ability to manage on-site crews and subcontractors, and collaborate with PMs and internal site/concrete crew
- Procore experience preferred, but not required
- Willingness to travel for projects, typically within a few hours of Chicagoland area
- Responsible for site documentation, coordination, and ensuring jobsite safety
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including health insurance, vacation time, fuel reimbursement, and per diem for travel over 1.5–2 hours from home (up to $35/day with receipts).
