Description
Sr. Designer/Drafter position in Buena Park, CA! This is an exciting opportunity to join a family-oriented custom fabrication and live events company that has been in business for over 35 years and is known for creating unique, large-scale builds for trade shows, conventions, and experiential environments. This role offers strong growth and promotion potential, giving an experienced SolidWorks professional the chance to lead and mentor a drafting team while bringing high-impact custom projects to life.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Sr. Designer/Drafter position include:
- 5+ years of professional drafting or CAD experience, including 3+ years of advanced SolidWorks experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing, mentoring, or leading drafting teams or projects.
- Must have live event, trade show, convention, experiential, or similar unique-build experience.
- Lead, mentor, assign work, review deliverables, and maintain drafting standards, workflows, and best practices.
- Create, review, and approve detailed 2D drawings, complex 3D CAD models, assemblies, BOMs, and fabrication-ready drawing packages.
- Work on wood and sheet goods, metal components and weldments, fabricated structures, assemblies, roof systems, overhangs, large-scale statement pieces, and custom builds.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, fabrication, and production teams to translate concepts into buildable solutions.
- Manage multiple fast-paced projects, deadlines, redlines, revisions, and technical problem-solving during design, fabrication, and installation phases.
Salary: $80,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
