This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established commercial HVAC service company in Los Angeles, CA, where technicians are truly valued for quality workmanship—not speed. This Senior HVAC Service Technician role supports commercial and industrial clients throughout the Los Angeles area, offering a company truck, dispatch from home, port-to-port pay for longer travel, and a stable service-only environment with no installations.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior HVAC Service Technician position include:
- Perform service and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems including package units, splits, mini-splits, VAV pneumatic systems, evaporative coolers, boilers, chillers, and VRF systems
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems primarily 10 tons and under in commercial and industrial buildings
- Provide excellent customer service while working independently in the field
- Maintain high-quality workmanship with an emphasis on doing the job right, not rushing
- Travel throughout Los Angeles County (typically Torrance to Valencia); Orange County already covered
- Utilize a company-provided truck and dispatch directly from home
- Comply with EPA certification requirements and safety standards
- Support a future rotating on-call schedule (approximately one weekend per month, service calls only)
Salary: $30–$38 per hour for technicians with 5–10 years of experience; $45–$55 per hour for senior technicians with 20+ years of experience, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including a 401(k) through John Hancock with employer match discussed at the 1-year mark, health insurance after 90 days with approximately 50% employer contribution for select tiers, medical coverage for dependents (excluding spouses), PTO with sick time front-loaded in the first 90 days, vacation accrual after one year, six paid holidays, a company truck taken home, dispatch from home, and port-to-port pay for extended travel.
