This Plumbing Estimating Department Head opportunity in New Port Richey puts you in a true working leadership role, owning bid accuracy and helping build the people, process, and pricing data that let the department scale.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Plumbing Estimating Department Head position include:
- 5+ years’ experience estimating residential plumbing with leadership experience.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a residential plumbing estimating team (10-15 estimators/takeoff staff).
- Own the end-to-end estimating process: plan/spec review, quantity takeoffs, labor and material pricing, and final bid assembly.
- Maintain and continuously improve the company’s in-house proprietary plumbing estimating system (assemblies, labor units, and pricing libraries) and train the team.
- Develop and update material/fixture pricing in partnership with purchasing and vendor/supplier relationships.
- Review and approve estimates as the final quality check before bids are released.
- Establish and track department KPIs (bid volume, win rate, and estimate accuracy vs. actuals) and report results to leadership.
- Interpret residential plumbing plans/specifications and applicable plumbing codes; identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risk.
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
