A high-growth energy and automation company in Hayward, CA is seeking a Mechanical HVAC Controls/BAS Engineer to support advanced energy efficiency, HVAC optimization, and building automation projects. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical HVAC Controls/BAS Engineer position include:
- 5+ years of advanced controls knowledge with the ability to develop energy efficiency scopes for existing buildings.
- Experience with HVAC, BAS systems, mechanical equipment, and system operations.
- Ability to independently walk buildings, document chillers, boilers, AHUs, VAVs, pumps, controls, and other equipment, then produce energy savings reports.
- Develop scopes of work, existing conditions summaries, controls deficiency lists, sequence of operations intent, and proposal narratives.
- Identify HVAC, controls, VFD, AHU, VAV, boiler, chiller, and pump energy-saving opportunities.
- Use Excel and Google Sheets to organize project data, with CAD/Revit experience considered a plus.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, vendors, and internal project teams while reporting directly to the COO.
- Support ASHRAE-style energy assessments, savings logic, trend log requests, and contractor scope development.
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
