Bring your hands-on manufacturing engineering skills to Brookfield, Connecticut and help turn complex aerospace and defense requirements into production-ready work that keeps schedules on track. In this Manufacturing Engineer — Production Initiator opportunity, you’ll own front-end job preparation, DFM support, and real-time shop-floor communication for a precision CNC machining and electroforming operation.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Manufacturing Engineer / Production Initiator position include:
- Demonstrated DFM experience with precision-machined parts, including creating and maintaining BOMs, travelers, tasks, and production documentation
- Review customer drawings and designs for manufacturability
- Create and release travelers, bills of material, lots, projects, and production tasks accurately and on time
- Develop front-end engineering solutions based on available machines, tooling, workholding, tolerances, and processes
- Create operation sequences, setup sheets, tool lists, and in-process inspection plans
- Support machinists and troubleshoot production issues in real time
- Assist with quoting, estimating, and customer proposals
- Maintain clear process documentation, including photos and workholding instructions, and manage multiple low-volume, high-mix projects
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Bonuses are paid at management's discretion depending upon how the company is performing financially. Holidays include 9 days: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Eve. Paid Time Off (PTO) accrues for employees with less than 10 years of service at 17 days annually (1.417 days per calendar month of active employment). A 401k is available with up to a 2% employer match, paid into the account at the end of the year based on overall company performance (eligible after 12 consecutive months of service with greater than 1,000 employment hours). Eligible dependents include spouse or domestic partner and children through the end of the month in which they turn 26. Health/Dental/Vision details are available upon request, with the company paying 80% of the silver plan and other plans offset using the silver plan as the baseline. Life Insurance/AD&D provides $20,000 with 100% of coverage cost paid by the company, and Short Term Disability provides $250 per week for 26 weeks with 100% of coverage cost paid by the company.
