Description
Machine Shop Manager position in Clearwater, FL! This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing manufacturing company that has been in business since 1998 and is building out its in-house machine shop operation. This hands-on leadership role offers the chance to shape a department from the ground up, mentor machinists, improve production flow, and potentially grow into a larger leadership role with future profit-sharing opportunities.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Machine Shop Manager position include:
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience with strong hands-on experience using CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
- Proficiency programming in Mastercam is required.
- Prior experience leading, supervising, training, or building a machine shop team.
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, prove out, and optimize CNC machining processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, customer drawings, technical specifications, and tight-tolerance requirements.
- Manage daily shop operations including scheduling, workflow, job priorities, labor assignments, setup documentation, and best practices.
- Perform first-piece inspections using calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and other standard measuring tools.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to customer contract obligations and comfortable working on the shop floor daily.
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
