Rapidly scaling a retail brand with a nimble, high-retention team offers a rare chance to own real outcomes from bid to opening. Based in Houston, TX, this Director Of Construction opportunity leads national expansion efforts that support operational startup and financial forecasting.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Director Of Construction position include:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in construction project management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role overseeing a team.
- Demonstrated experience executing multi-location rollouts for a national retail or consumer-facing brand across multiple U.S. markets.
- Deep expertise in GC sourcing, competitive bid management, and owners’ representative functions.
- Strong ability to manage projects on time and on budget, including change order management and risk mitigation.
- Serve as the primary construction authority, building and leading a team of Project Managers and Coordinators.
- Provide consistent, clear status reporting to senior leadership, including budget tracking, schedule updates, and risk flags.
- Build and maintain a project management system for real-time visibility in a tech-first environment (Procore preferred).
- Travel 25–50% to support projects, site visits, inspections, and GC performance.
Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
