Step into a mission-driven energy infrastructure business with real impact across the western U.S., building low-carbon district energy projects that serve communities for decades. In this Director, Development opportunity, you’ll help originate and develop new, capital-intensive opportunities across Washington, Utah, or Texas, with a strong preference for Washington or Utah and an established local presence.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Director, Development position include:
- Senior business development/origination experience creating net-new, complex, capital-intensive infrastructure or energy opportunities (not primarily account management).
- Track record of consultative selling through regulatory, procurement, RFQ, developer, and construction stakeholders, with long sales cycles of approximately 18 months.
- Established professional network in Washington, Utah, or Texas that can open doors and secure qualified meetings.
- Ability to originate or sell large-scale infrastructure opportunities, roughly $20M+ (and experience across $20M–$30M to $100M–$200M opportunities is a plus).
- Develop the district energy value proposition by learning client goals and building the case for district energy as a viable path forward.
- Own regional origination and development of new district energy opportunities with pipeline value and qualified success as key outcomes.
- Act as a valued business partner through procurement, regulatory processes, and long-cycle RFQ steps (supported internally by subject matter experts).
- Be able and willing to travel extensively as needed to build the western U.S. pipeline, including travel to Canada when required.
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
