Build your future with a precision-focused manufacturer producing complex, high-quality components for demanding applications. In this CNC Lathe Setup Technician/Machinist opportunity, you’ll work in a modern facility while advancing your skills in a hands-on, high-mix manufacturing environment.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this CNC Lathe Setup Tech/Machinist position include:
- At least five years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.
- Independently own complete lathe setups from blueprint review through first-article approval.
- Read, edit, and write G-code directly at the machine; optimize programs for cycle time, surface finish, and tool life.
- Set up and operate horizontal and vertical CNC lathes using various industry-standard controls.
- Strong understanding of turning processes, speeds/feeds, cutting tools/inserts, and workholding strategies.
- Interpret complex mechanical drawings, tolerances, and GD&T; select tooling and machining approaches for each job.
- Inspect completed components using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and similar equipment; complete in-process and first-article documentation.
- Set up and machine a variety of complex aluminum components, including jobs requiring specialized workholding and consistent accuracy, concentricity, and surface finish across varying sizes and geometries.
Salary: $38 - $50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
