This Civil Engineer (Land & Site Development) position in Raleigh, NC offers the opportunity to work on large-scale private development projects including master planned communities, mixed-use developments, and commercial sites. With a small, highly experienced team and clear ownership potential, this role is ideal for a driven engineer who wants to take on leadership responsibilities and grow with a firm that values expertise and long-term partnership.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Civil Engineer (Land & Site Development) position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering – Lead and support land and site development engineering projects from concept through construction.
  • 8–10 years of experience in private sector site design – Manage grading, erosion control, storm drainage, utilities, and other site improvements.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or strong experience without PE) – Work directly with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies to develop site plans and approvals.
  • Experience with large-scale private development projects – Contribute to master planned communities, mixed-use developments, office parks, and residential developments.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil3D – Prepare engineering drawings, construction documents, and design layouts.
  • Hydraulic and drainage modeling knowledge (Hydraflow) – Prepare stormwater calculations and system designs.
  • Strong project management and communication skills – Serve as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Mentorship and team collaboration – Support junior staff and contribute to a positive and productive office environment.

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
