Description

A well-established architecture firm specializing in retail and tenant improvement projects is seeking a talented Architect / Job Captain in Long Beach, CA to join their growing team. This 25-person firm offers the opportunity to work on high-profile retail brands while developing your leadership and project coordination skills in a collaborative, performance-driven environment with clear growth opportunities.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Architect / Job Captain position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture – Produce architectural drawings and construction documents for retail and tenant improvement projects
  • Strong AutoCAD proficiency (required) – Develop and manage detailed plans, layouts, and technical documentation
  • Experience with Revit preferred; SketchUp and Bluebeam a plus – Assist with modeling, visualization, and project coordination
  • 5+ years of architectural experience – Support project teams with production, detailing, and documentation
  • 2–3 years of experience as a Job Captain or Junior Project Manager preferred – Help coordinate project tasks, schedules, and deliverables
  • Experience with commercial or retail projects – Work on tenant improvement and retail environments for national brands
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills – Work closely with clients, consultants, and internal team members
  • Ability to conduct site visits and coordinate project information – Support field verification and project coordination throughout the design process

Salary: $85,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including 100% employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid holidays including Christmas through New Year’s closure, 80 hours of PTO annually plus 8 hours of birthday PTO, sick time accrual starting immediately, end-of-year bonus potential based on company performance, and a summer schedule between Memorial Day and Labor Day featuring 9-hour days with half-day Fridays.
