Build your future with a close-knit development and construction team creating high-impact affordable and workforce housing communities across Florida. In this Development Manager opportunity, you’ll lead projects from early land feasibility through design, entitlements, permitting, and construction readiness—making a visible difference in the Sarasota area.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Development Manager position include:
- 5+ years in land development, real estate development, civil engineering consulting, urban planning, zoning/entitlements, permitting, architecture/engineering, or local government
- Strong Sarasota/Manatee County knowledge, including municipal relationships and familiarity with local development and approval processes
- Evaluate development opportunities for zoning, land use, density/site capacity, utilities, infrastructure, access, permitting requirements, costs, schedules, and constraints
- Coordinate due diligence to identify risks, assumptions, dependencies, and roadblocks before significant capital is committed
- Develop preliminary development plans, budgets, schedules, and recommendations to support investment and project-selection decisions
- Manage approximately 4–5 development projects at a time, establishing and tracking schedules, budgets, milestones, responsibilities, and deliverables
- Lead and manage the in-house permitting team; develop entitlement and permitting strategies and track submissions, agency comments, hearings, approvals, and permit issuance
- Select and coordinate outside architects, engineers, planners, environmental consultants, attorneys, and other specialists; represent the company at pre-application meetings, community meetings, municipal/council meetings, and public hearings
Salary: $84,000 base plus project milestone bonuses of approximately $5,000–$20,000 per project, depending on experience and performance.
Benefits: Employer pays 75% of healthcare after 90 days; 10 vacation days and 5 sick days initially; no 401(k).
