Qualifications and responsibilities for this Concrete Estimator position include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience) – Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Experience estimating heavy civil, roadway, or public works projects – Prepare competitive bids for MDOT and government agency projects.
- Background with self-performing contractors – Evaluate labor, equipment, and production costs for internally performed work.
- Strong budgeting and cost control knowledge – Analyze project budgets and financial considerations during the estimating process.
- Project logistics and scheduling understanding – Evaluate site conditions, project schedules, and potential constraints.
- Subcontractor and supplier analysis skills – Compare and analyze competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Bid preparation and coordination experience – Assemble and prepare complete bid packages for submission.
- Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid, HCSS Heavy Job, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office – Utilize estimating software and tools to manage multiple bids concurrently.
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
