This exciting Urban Designer opportunity is located in Washington, DC or Tampa, FL, offering the chance to join an award-winning national design firm known for architecture, urban design, planning, and placemaking. This collaborative, highly design-focused studio creates walkable mixed-use communities, town centers, residential neighborhoods, and transformative places that strengthen community pride while supporting long-term career growth, mentorship, and cross-office collaboration.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Urban Designer position include:
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in master planning, project planning, urban design, and placemaking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or a related field.
- Strong experience with mixed-use developments, town center planning, neighborhood planning, retail placemaking, and Traditional Neighborhood Design communities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; Revit and ArcGIS experience is preferred.
- Contribute to master planning and project planning efforts across neighborhood developments, town centers, and mixed-use destinations.
- Participate in collaborative design charrettes and translate concepts into clear visual and planning presentations.
- Prepare graphics, planning documents, and presentations for client meetings and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate with architects, landscape architects, engineers, developers, and internal planning teams to support project timelines and deliverables.
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
