We are seeking an Transportation Engineering Manager in Charlotte, NC to spearhead the expansion of a nationally respected, multidisciplinary engineering firm into the North Carolina market. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Transportation Engineering Manager position include:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred) & active PE license in North Carolina (PA and NY a plus) – Lead and oversee transportation engineering design and project delivery
  • 15+ years of transportation civil engineering design experience – Provide technical expertise in roadway and/or bridge design and regulatory compliance
  • 10+ years of project management experience – Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and staffing for on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Proven business development success in the transportation sector – Build and strengthen client relationships and expand market presence in North Carolina
  • Strong leadership and team management experience – Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations
  • Experience with NCDOT, agency, and locally administered federal-aid projects – Navigate public processes and municipal approvals
  • Financial acumen and performance-driven mindset – Utilize metrics to drive operational and project success
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MicroStation, AutoCAD, OpenRoads a plus) – Support technical production and proposal development

Salary: $150,000 - $195,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
