Qualifications and responsibilities for this Tool Designer position include:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in tool design for plastic injection molding
- Design precision molds and tooling using SolidWorks while following detailed engineering specifications
- Communicate directly with customers to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into designs
- Create and manage bills of materials for tooling components
- Source and obtain quotes for mold bases and other mold components from suppliers
- Collaborate with CNC operators and toolmakers to ensure proper manufacturing of designs
- Maintain familiarity with vertical mills, surface grinders, and manual lathes to support tooling development
- Troubleshoot tooling and design challenges to ensure manufacturability and production efficiency
Salary: $25 - $40 per hour, commensurate with experience.
