A respected consulting firm specializing in athletic facility planning is seeking a Sports Facilities Planning & Project Consultant in Dublin / Columbus, Ohio, offering the chance to work directly with schools, municipalities, and sports organizations to solve complex facility challenges and guide projects from concept to implementation. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Sports Facilities Planning & Project Consultant position include:
- 3–7 years of experience in sports facilities, parks and recreation, construction management, public works, or related field – Lead site visits, facility assessments, and stakeholder meetings to gather project information
- Strong project management and organizational skills – Coordinate multiple consulting engagements and keep projects progressing on schedule
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Prepare clear reports, assessments, and presentations for clients, school boards, and community stakeholders
- Strong analytical abilities with budgeting and financial data – Analyze maintenance costs, fee structures, and operational data to support planning recommendations
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documents (or willingness to develop this skill) – Review plans, specifications, and identify inconsistencies between field conditions and design documents
- Working knowledge of sports facilities, turf systems, and operational considerations – Evaluate grading, drainage, infrastructure, and field performance issues
- Ability to collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, contractors, and client teams – Support feasibility studies, project scopes, and implementation strategies
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Ohio; based in or willing to relocate to the Columbus/Dublin area – Conduct on-site evaluations and attend client meetings throughout the region
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
