Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior Mechanical Engineer position include:
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in high-tech or R&D environments.
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and experience performing stress, thermal, and dynamic analysis on large structures such as vacuum vessels and pipe networks.
- Design and develop opto-mechanical and precision assemblies for high-energy laser systems and optical components.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and support design validation of large-scale mechanical systems.
- Apply GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and mechanical drawing interpretation for fabrication-ready documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with optical, electrical, and systems engineers to integrate designs.
- Manage prototyping, testing, and iteration of complex mechanical assemblies.
- Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and support documentation of design intent, BOMs, and test results.
Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
