Step into a leadership-focused architecture role with a nationally recognized organization that develops and operates senior living communities across the country. This Project Architect (Design Manager) position is based in Des Moines, IA and offers the opportunity to lead the design process for large-scale senior living developments including CCRCs and assisted living communities. Working as an owner’s representative within a highly respected development group, you will collaborate with top design firms while shaping projects that positively impact the lives of seniors nationwide.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Project Architect (Design Manager) position include:

  • BA/BS in Architecture or Construction Management required
  • 3–8 years of postgraduate architectural experience with at least 3 years of project management experience
  • Registered Architect preferred or actively pursuing licensure (reimbursement available for exams)
  • Experience with multi-family, healthcare, or hospitality projects; senior living experience is a strong plus
  • Lead and coordinate the entire design process as the owner’s representative, managing architecture and consultant teams
  • Oversee design schedules, budgets, functionality, and compliance with codes and operational requirements
  • Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Bluebeam for design reviews and coordination with external design firms
  • Manage RFP processes, consultant agreements, and collaboration between ownership, design teams, and contractors

Salary: $98,000 - $122,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
