Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical Designer Engineer (AUV’s) position include:
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably with marine vehicles, underwater systems, or electric propulsion
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and Rhino; AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Experience in hull design, hydrodynamics, CFD/FEA tools, or pressure vessel design is highly desired
- Strong background in mechanical systems for defense, aerospace, or autonomous systems preferred
- Design, prototype, and manufacture AUV components, focusing on manufacturability and underwater performance
- Collaborate on integration of GPS, communications, and autonomy into mechanical systems
- Perform simulations for structural and hydrodynamic analysis
- Work closely with a small, agile engineering team to iterate and refine hardware designs
Salary: $80.00 – $100.00+ per hour, based on experience.
