We are seeking a Fire Suppression Project Engineer to play a key role in the day-to-day operations of sprinkler and standpipe installations. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with ownership, gain broad exposure to various aspects of the business, and make a visible impact at a company known for its technical expertise, strong reputation, and commitment to quality in NYC construction.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Fire Suppression Project Engineer position include:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, or industrial engineering required
- 3–5 years of experience with fire sprinkler and standpipe systems preferred
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of fire suppression systems in new and existing buildings
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and construction documents
- Knowledge of OSHA safety precautions and ability to develop activity plans for hazard mitigation during installations
- Prepare estimates, material take-offs, and budgets for fire suppression system installations and modifications
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, AHJ requirements, and project specifications through quality inspections
- Support mechanical design and layout using AutoCAD or BIM software; convert plans into shop drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
