Step into a high-impact leadership role as a Director of Aerospace in Houston, TX, where you will drive strategy, innovation, and growth for a well-established advanced composites manufacturer with decades of industry success. This is a rare opportunity to build and scale an aerospace division from the ground up, working with cutting-edge materials and shaping long-term partnerships across commercial aerospace, defense, and space sectors.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Director of Aerospace position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace, or related field (MBA preferred); lead and execute aerospace business strategy, including market segmentation and growth planning
- 12–15 years of aerospace, advanced materials, or composites manufacturing experience; manage full lifecycle aerospace programs from development through production
- Experience working with aerospace OEMs or Tier 1/2 suppliers; serve as senior point of contact for key customer relationships
- Strong understanding of AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace qualification processes; ensure compliance and support audits and certifications
- Proven leadership experience; drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, operations, quality, and sales teams
- Strong business acumen; oversee revenue growth, pricing strategies, and margin performance
- Knowledge of composite materials and processing methods; align technical capabilities with customer requirements and product roadmaps
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite; support forecasting, pipeline development, and reporting
Salary: $165,000 - $185,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
