Description
Join a fast-growing construction company based in Queens, New York, working directly with the City on essential sewer and water infrastructure projects. This is a high-impact Controller position where you'll lead the financial function of a company undergoing transformational growth with new ownership and leadership. With a direct line to the CEO and President, this is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role and shape the future of a 70-person operation with over $40M in revenue – and the potential for this role to grow into a CFO position.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Controller position include:
- 5+ years of experience as a Controller within the construction industry, preferably with union experience
- Strong understanding of WIP (Work In Progress) accounting and job costing
- Proficiency in Excel and experience preparing monthly financials
- Ability to oversee and mentor finance staff handling billing, payroll, and payments
- Familiarity with union payments and compliance
- Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
- Experience or willingness to lead an ERP transition (such as Acumatica); Sage 100 experience is a plus
- Report directly to the CEO and President, serving as a key strategic advisor on financial operations
Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
