Take your career to the next level as a Construction Director in Houston, Texas, leading large-scale retail fuel and convenience store development for a nationally recognized energy and mobility organization operating over 200 locations across Texas and New Mexico. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Construction Director position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (MBA a plus) – Lead all phases of construction including site development, new builds, remodels, and capital improvements
  • Active GB-98 General Building Contractor License (New Mexico) – Serve as the licensed General Contractor ensuring CID compliance and regulatory adherence
  • 10+ years of construction management experience, preferably in fuel and convenience retail – Oversee multiple concurrent projects with full lifecycle responsibility
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-site projects – Develop and execute strategic construction plans aligned with company growth goals
  • Strong knowledge of FEED processes, permitting, zoning, environmental regulations, and petroleum systems – Lead FEED planning, validation, and quality assurance reviews
  • Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, and Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) – Manage budgeting, scheduling, reporting, and risk registers
  • Expertise in API standards, TCEQ regulations, UST systems, and fuel equipment – Ensure OSHA, environmental, and brand compliance across all projects
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills – Oversee a team of project managers, superintendents, foremen, and a FEED Manager while managing vendor and contractor relationships

Salary: $160,000 - $170,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
