Join a highly respected and growth-focused general contractor as a Construction Controller in Minnetonka, MN, reporting directly to the President and playing a pivotal role in shaping the financial strength of the organization. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Construction Controller position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; lead and manage all accounting and financial operations.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with construction industry experience (GC preferred); oversee construction accounting practices including WIP and job cost integrity.
- Proven ability to complete monthly close by the 9th business day; own and enforce a disciplined close calendar and reporting cadence.
- Expertise in WIP reporting, percent-complete revenue recognition, cost-to-complete forecasting, and gross margin validation; ensure accurate project financial visibility and risk identification.
- Strong cash management experience including 13-week rolling cash forecasts; own cash positioning, AR/AP oversight, and working capital strategy.
- Experience preparing financial statements and management reporting packages; deliver clear variance explanations and executive-level insights.
- Experience preparing and executing AIA client contracts; review contract terms for financial and risk impacts and maintain contract documentation and compliance.
- Leadership experience managing accounting staff; develop team performance, enforce internal controls, and ensure audit readiness and GAAP compliance.
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
