Description

Take ownership of a high-impact leadership role as a Construction Business Development Manager in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX (open to Houston), driving expansion for a private equity-backed design-build general contractor specializing in light industrial, self-storage, RV storage, edge data centers, and niche commercial asset classes. This firm is aggressively expanding into Texas and is seeking a market-driven rainmaker to establish a strong local presence, build strategic partnerships, and fuel a $20–$30M project pipeline. If you thrive on chasing key accounts, cultivating long-cycle commercial construction relationships, and want uncapped earning potential with true ownership of a territory, this is your opportunity to build something significant.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Construction Business Development Manager position include:

  • 3+ years of business development or sales experience in commercial construction or real estate; drive territory growth throughout DFW and the broader Texas market.
  • Strong background in light industrial, flex space, self-storage, RV storage, or related asset classes preferred; develop and secure 2–3 major projects totaling $20–$30M.
  • Proven ability to manage long-cycle sales; cultivate high-level relationships with developers, financial institutions, and key stakeholders.
  • Experience working with estimating and operations teams; strategically manage pipeline coordination and internal resources.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms (Buildr preferred), Procore, Bluebeam, and Excel; maintain accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Strong networking and presentation skills; represent the firm at conferences and regional industry events.
  • Self-starter mentality with high ownership; establish local presence (WeWork or similar) and manage territory independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (PMP or Gold Seal a plus); support strategic expansion initiatives backed by private equity growth objectives.

Salary: $140,000 per year base, plus commission (2.5% of expected project profit with uncapped earning potential).

Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including three weeks of PTO, health insurance, dental insurance, and a 401k plan (no match), along with a $1,000 per month car allowance and flexible 8am–5pm schedule.
