Qualifications and responsibilities for this Assistant Project Manager position include:
- Minimum 2+ years of construction experience – Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in ensuring projects are completed on time and on schedule
- Proficiency in MS Project and Excel – Update and report overall project schedules and maintain tracking logs
- Local to the Herndon, VA area – Support office-based operations (100% 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday) with occasional field visits
- Strong understanding of construction documents – Review RFPs/ITBs, develop trade scopes, and coordinate subcontractor bidding
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, and material tracking – Manage submissions, follow up on responses, and maintain project logs
- Budget awareness – Monitor project costs and compare against budgets to identify inconsistencies
- Communication skills and responsiveness – Coordinate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal project teams
- Organizational and follow-through skills – Assist with permitting, change orders, progress meetings, O&M manuals, and project closeout documentation
Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Bonus.
