Based in Miami, this Assistant Construction Estimator opportunity supports bid success from early takeoffs through compliant tender submissions.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Assistant Estimator position include:
- Entry-level to two (2) years of experience in construction, estimating, project coordination, procurement, or a related field preferred; internship or co-op experience is an asset.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and bid documents; assist with conceptual, budgetary, and detailed cost estimates.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and potential risks; organize and maintain estimate files, bid tabulations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with RFP preparation and distribution, compile bid packages, and maintain bid invitation logs while ensuring current project information is shared with bidders.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit pricing, follow up on outstanding quotations, and support proposal evaluation and scope compliance.
- Assist with RFI preparation, coordination, and tracking; collect and organize questions, coordinate submissions, and monitor impacts on scope, pricing, and schedules.
- Support supply chain development by researching qualified subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, and assist with subcontractor prequalification activities.
- Maintain digital filing systems and support templates, databases, reporting tools, and continuous improvement within the Preconstruction Department.
Salary: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per annum, commensurate with experience.
