A global leader in advanced gear-grinding and machine tool technology is seeking an Application Engineer / Project Manager in Livonia, MI to support highly technical customer projects throughout North America. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Application Engineer / Project Manager position include:
- 4-year university degree preferred, ideally in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience as an application engineer, project manager, or sales engineer within the machine tool industry
- Strong understanding of gear fundamentals, gear manufacturing, gear grinders, tooling, automation, technology, and services
- Develop and customize technical application solutions based on customer specifications in collaboration with headquarters in Switzerland
- Manage projects from customer requirements through installation, implementation, technical support, and ongoing project updates
- Provide technical consulting, tender management, product training, and support for engineers and sales teams at target accounts
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, automation, automotive industry applications, and Fanuc robotics preferred
- Must be dependable, organized, customer-facing, and willing to travel up to 60% within North America
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including 4 weeks of front-loaded vacation, 5 additional PTO days, 11 paid national holidays, paid company shutdown from December 23 through January 2, medical and dental coverage with the company covering 75% of premiums for employees and dependents, voluntary vision insurance, HSA contributions, $200,000 life insurance policy, disability coverage, 401(k) with 6% company match, an additional 3% Safe Harbor contribution after the first year, immediate vesting of employer contributions, and covered travel expenses including airfare, rental cars, hotels, laptops, cell phones, hotspots, and company credit cards.
