Description

Join a growing and highly specialized aluminum manufacturing company as an Aluminum Detailer (CAD Drafter) in Clearwater, FL, supporting custom railing and architectural metal projects across Florida’s booming new construction and beachfront condo restoration markets. This is an immediate opportunity to work directly with leadership in a hands-on, impact-driven role where your detailing expertise will directly influence fabrication accuracy and project success. If you enjoy precision 2D drafting, aluminum railing systems, and being a key technical contributor within a tight-knit team, this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Aluminum Detailer (CAD Drafter) position include:

  • 2+ years of drafting experience (architectural metal, railing, or aluminum preferred); produce accurate 2D shop and fabrication drawings for aluminum railing and stair rail systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit (2D drafting only); create detailed fabrication-ready drawings without rendering requirements.
  • Experience reviewing construction documents; interpret plans and coordinate drawings with field and fabrication teams.
  • Knowledge of railing or architectural metal systems preferred; develop shop drawings aligned with fabrication and installation processes.
  • Strong attention to detail; ensure drawings meet project specifications and minimize production errors.
  • Ability to work independently (remote or in-office); coordinate directly with ownership on project-specific oversight.
  • Associate degree in Drafting or related field preferred; support project coordination and limited management responsibilities as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and portfolio of prior work; participate in video interviews and demonstrate past project experience.

Salary: $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience (up to $100,000 per year for candidates who bring exceptional value, client access, or a strong portfolio).

Benefits: This hourly contractor position offers paid vacation and holidays (one week in the first year, accrued after 90 days, and two weeks after two years), and a shared medical expense stipend (approximately 50% contribution).
