Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior Construction Accountant position include:
- Minimum 10+ years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred) – Prepare monthly profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Strong knowledge of debit, credit, expense accounting, and financial reporting – Oversee and manage all financial activity including money in and out of the company
- Experience with accounting platforms beyond QuickBooks (SAGE or similar preferred) – Utilize web-based construction accounting software for financial management
- Experience handling year-end closeouts independently – Manage full-cycle accounting and financial reporting processes
- Analytical mindset with ability to adjust pay applications and manage retainage – Oversee construction accounting including pay applications and retainage adjustments
- Experience managing workers’ compensation audits – Pull apart and manage workers' compensation audits
- Detail-oriented and process-driven – Review procurement invoices, process overhead expenses, and manage operational costs
- Confident, competent, and collaborative communicator with ability to work fully in-office in Clearwater, FL – Work closely with ownership on cash flow planning and provide financial feedback to project managers and leadership
Salary: $78,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including performance-based bonuses typically ranging from $3,000 - $5,500, health insurance with the company paying 50% after 60 days, dental, vision, and life insurance including a $20,000 life policy, a Simple IRA with 3% company match, and PTO beginning at 6 months with 2 personal days and increasing annually, with an additional PTO structure currently being revamped.
